An insider's view of the creative process delving into the Armstrong Archives, followed by Q&A Talkback led by Chanel DaSilva, featuring Esperanza Spalding, Antonio Brown, and their collaborators.
So immensely appreciative to have spent the past few days at the @louisarmstronghouse in residency with esperanza spalding, Antonio Brown, and off brand gOdds (a new dance/music company directed by esperanza spalding and Antonio Brown) collectively immersing ourselves in the legacies of Louis
Armstrong and researching the evolution of dance and music in jazz history. Thank you, Regina Bail, Jake Goldbas, and all the staff, for graciously opening the collective home of Louis and Lucille Armstrong's labor and receiving us in community and care. If you missed the live stream, check out some clips here and watch the full version @louisarmstronghouse.
Company Artists-Collaborators: Christina Hunte, Dr. Drum, Eric Doob, Kaylin Horgan, Matthew Stevens, Morgan Guerin, Safa, & Tashae Udo.
